Diabetes Symptoms and Signs
Before discussing diabetes symptoms, it is important to know that what are diabetes types and what becomes wrong in body that leads to diabetes.
When we eat food, it is consumed by body digestive system. As result of digestion, carbohydrates split down into glucose. This glucose increases sugar level in the blood. In normal human body, this glucose is used by body cells and glucose level in blood remains persistent. This is how we grow and get energy. The absorption of glucose (sugar) into body cells is done using insulin. If somehow, body is unable to produce insulin or cells fail to use insulin, sugar level increases in our blood. This condition is known as Diabetes.
There are three types of Diabetes.
Type1: Our body fails to produce insulin.
Type2: Our body cells fail to use the produced insulin.
Gestational diabetes: It is situation when a woman during pregnancy has high sugar level, this can cause Type 2 diabetes later on.
Diabetes Symptoms
Following are common diabetes symptoms.
Polyuria
Polyuria is a condition in which abnormal and too much production of urine takes place. It is one of the most observed diabetes symptoms.
Polydipsia
Pulyuria is a condition in which affected person feels too much thrust.
Pulyphagia
This is the condition of excessive eating. Patients feel hunger more and more. He tends to eat more than he usually does.
Change in Vision
Prolonged excessive blood glucose results in absorption of glucose, which causes alterations inside form of lenses in the eyes, leading to vision alterations. But, if proper measures are taken to control glucose, eye lens retains its original shape and position. Often people complain blurred vision, which eventually results in diagnosis of diabetes. In this case, type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed but type 2 diabetes in not out of question.
Few people who have type 1 may other diabetes symptoms nausea, vomiting, and uncomfortable breathing.
People suffering from diabetes may also suffer skin rashes.
